Fish & Chip Reviews

The White Hart, London, SE1 8TJ, 8 August 2014

Hello….. I am a wreck, absolutely knackered.  Hate feeling like this on my beloved Friday.  Must be age.  It is very unusual of me!!!!   ?Um? Being defensive is also sign of old age.

Making cheerful pose. In fact, cold beer cheered me up.

I am at The White Hart, London, SE1. How low maintenance I am, all I need is a pint, not fancy flowers or expensive treats.  The White Hart, you always serve good beer.  Well done for the consistency of your service.  However, TOO MUCH AIR CONDITION!!!  We should enjoy heat, we don’t need air condition in London (but this opinion was completely dismissed by my peers).

Let’s move on to fish and chips, menu was same as in my previous visit.  HAKE!

Steamy Hot!
Steamy Hot!
Ah! Hake but lovely shape this time.
Ah! Hake but better shape than how I remembered.

Saying that, just looked back my old post.  They look identical.  Now, I prove how unreliable human memories are.

1. Fish.  8/10 Definitely better.  Was not dry or frakey.   Almost being mistaken as cod.  Jucy! yey! I kept asking “is this hake?”

2. Chips 8/10 Again, better.  Cooked from scratch, crunchy, full of potato flavours.  Enjoyed everybite.  Well done.  Portion small but I was wreck, could not probably eat more than this so it is OK.  You see, how “subjective” this critic is.   But who cares.

3. Peas 6/10.  Same as before.  Dry,nothing special.  Could do with improvement!

Overall 8/10.  Generous score due to high consistency in quality + quantity, which I must say cannot always the case in pubs in London.

My journey of subjective critic continues….
