The Betjeman Arms, St. Pancras station, London N1C 4QL, 3 March 2023

Good evening, we are late in the evening nearly 10pm, need foods!  Help!  The Betjeman Arms, agreed to help us, managed to order our fish and chips – without even see the menu, check the price, as the Kitchen was just about to close!  Ordered fish and chips before beers.

Now I am looking at the menu from the website, “Young’s beer-battered haddock, triple-cooked chips, tartar sauce, mushy peas” £17.50 – what can I say, this is standard price now days.

Phew, great first impression!

Fish 5/10 : Good crunchy batter – however fish was definitely undercooked – what a shame as the flesh was big and thick, I know you are desperately closing the kitchen…

Chips 8/10: This is better, well cooked – definitely felt freshly cooked without any rush, good portion size – those chunky chips are definitely taste of the UK – especially evident after being abroad – got used to “skinny fries”

mush peas : no rating , I remember good visual bright green otherwise unable to recall any impression, too hungry to tuck in fish – then too busy commenting how undercooked the fish was.

Anyway, all done, the hunger was sorted.  Good night!
