Hello! Friday before bank holiday weekend. Nothing like celebrating with a cold pint at The Griffin, N20.
I can tell you, this is THE COLDEST Amstel pint I ever had. Great to crunch my thirst, very smooth, well executed. However, after about a few minutes, doubt started to creeping up. Hang on, this beer is actually TOO COLD. So much so, I cannot actually taste the beer. Oh well, still, better than flat Amstel which I often find. Also soooo many people celebrating something (e.g., birthdays, fridays etc). it got soooooo noisy, we had to leave to dining area…. Thought I was at the Weatherspoon in somewhere a bit rough…. I swear though I am not posh!
1. Fish 4/10… AHHHHH!!! this goooey batter. I knew I had this somewhere, it was at the CATCHER in the RYE. what a shame!!!! Fish itself was nice but cannot give you any higher score, unforgivable mistake! 2. Chips 5/10 Delicious. Nothing wrong except only about 12 of them. 3. Mushy peas 5/10. Yes it was mushy peas. Any twist? Mmmmm. overall 5/10. This harsh marking considering the fact that you did not make me full. It is very unusual of me not to feel full after fish and chips with beer. I attributed this for stingy portion of chips. I actually had to order a pudding. Give my my £5 back (cost of pudding)!!! I won’t be rush going back there I am afraid. I actually know only time I will go back will be at very very hot British Summer day to taste your cold beer, so won’t be soon! good night!
