Good Evening, let’s celebrate unusually warm November night with beer and Fish and chips, what a good idea! We are here in the central London, Silver Cross.
Beer-Battered Cod & Chips£15.29 – out hand beer-battered Atlantic cod with thick-cut chips and tartare sauce (1796kcal), with your choice of mushy (90kcal) or garden peas (60kcal). Thank you for the calorie content of the dish, I did not take any notice. All I noticed was the price – very reasonable in the middle of cost of living crisis.
Fish : 2/10 Ohhhhh this is so bad. I gave 2 points for the size of fish. The flesh was watery – when chewing no flavour coming through, just watery terrible squashy texture. Batter was inflated but too thick, inside of the batter was squashy – double (fish and batter) squashy – yak!
Chips 1/10 Ohhhh this is so bad – lukewarm, they were sat in somewhere for sometime since cooked – somewhere, but where?!?! I sincerely wish they were some left overs (i.e., reuse) of some other customers.
Peas 2/10 Just garden peas defrosted
Overall 1/10 – probably one of the worst fish and chips I can remember – I won’t be back for sure. It’s really shame, many tourists visit here, thinking this is the famous fish and Chips – but I can assure you, this is not the representative of Fish and Chips! Also I am surprised as Greene King is a trusted chain, I actually quite like them – what happened in here!!?!
Good night!
Avoid Greene King if you can!
