The Flask Hampstead

Good evening, dark November evening, certainly Fish and Chips will cheer us up – we are at a quiet corner of North London, The Flask, Hampstead.

Beer battered haddock, triple cooked chips, tartare sauce, mushy peas (1414kcal) £18.90.  As always, I am not taking any notice of the calorie content. £18.9, 18.9, 18.9….echoing in my ear….

First impression – small portion

OOOhhh…. chips served in a bucket, does’t look a lot of them

Phew, portion size better than expected!

Fish 7/10 : Chunky flesh, no issues with execution – just right thickness of simple batter, juicy flesh-  though felt ever so slightly small side of the piece

Chips: 7/10: Enough portion, again, no issues with execution.

Mushy peas: 6/10 beautiful green colour – a bit watery side

What can I say – nothing wrong with this, but so ordinarily, so not memorable.  But nothing that I can blame too. I do though remember – not long ago I had something just like this for £12.50.

I predict – soon, we will soon see this beloved staple will cross big 20 mark in everywhere, well at least in London.

Good night!
