Good evening! It has been a while since I had Fish and Chips last time… since February. This is the first time in 9 months – can I still call myself “the most trusted Fish and Chips critic”? Yes I can, because nobody cares!
The venue we chose was The Stage Door, Waterloo – come on fish and chips!
Big smile from me! Fish and Chips, Battered Cod Fillet, chips & Tartar sauce £12.95 – can you believe it, great price at this cost of living crisis!
Fish: 5/10 Mmmmmm….. initial happy smile quickly disappeared from me. Fish flesh was undercooked for my liking – as a result, felt a bit waterly when chewing. Furthermore, appered big nice flesh was the product of inflation of thick batter.
Chips: 5/10 A lot of them! which was lovely! But so so so mediocre, not leaving any impression.
No peas! Yes you did not lie, peas were not mentioned on the menu but I believed peas are default. Oh well, I was wrong, learning something new everyday.
For my first Fish and Chips in 9 months, I shall say it was disappointing. I get the cost of living crisis, but “portion size” “quality” “lower side pricing ” were all unbalanced. For that reason, I won’t be back soon. Good night!
