Doggett's Coat And Badge

Hello! the last fish and chips was the first time in 9 months, this time, first time in 2 weeks, not bad! We are at the Doggett’s and Badge, South bank.

Doggett's Coat And Badge
One of our favorite location

Same choice Nicholson’s Fish and Chips go large – £20. In February, this was £17.50. Ohhhh Whopping over 14% rise – what can we do, the cost of living crisis + decreasing/ceasing import of white fish from Russia, we understand….

As per expected – from my previous experience
Doggett's Coat And Badge
No surprise

Fish 8/10 : Fish was cooked well throughout, piping hot, no “undercooked” surprise. This fish made me reaffirmed, when it comes to fish and chips, “undercook” is a definite NO NO. When fish flesh cooked throughout as this – but not over cooked, with perfect thickness batter, fish flesh felt fluffy in the mouth while crunchy yet jucy but not greasy batter’s texture mixed together – mmm heaven! Crunchy and fluffy are opposite, opposite attracts!

Chips 7/10: Fluffy inside, crunchy outside, slightly salted chips – yummy, definitely could do more of them, especially paying £20 – I think there were less than 10 chips on this dish.

Mushy peas 6/10 : I love them even though nothing special like this one. This green colour is such an accent of otherwise brown dish! Especially after the last time – I learnt mushy peas are not default!

Over all 7/10 for it still felt small for “go large”! But I enjoyed every mouthful, piping hot fish and chips in the cold, dark autum evening – how comforting!

Good night!
