The Admiralty

Good evening, feeling really hungry – we need to be quick! Kitchen will close soon! Eating in London after 9pm can be challenging with the horror words of “kitchen closed” Woooo, just made it in The Admiralty, Trafalgar square, looking up our treasure the National Gallery.

Fish : 7/10 Recent days I have been disheartened by the inflated too thick batter. The batter was perfectly coated yet not too thick, juicy but not greasy, piping hot with crunchy texture. Fish cooked through but not dried. You can see the above image how NOT too thick. I did not mind to see cheeky tail sticking out from the batter. Though I was too cautious with the visible seasalt on the fish, I confess that I removed them before tasting – again from recent bad experience.

Chips : 8/10 Great! not too thick – I have also been disheartened by the too chunky chips. Hot, enough seasoning (without being salty) to bring potato flavour.

Peas : 8/10 As it says on the tin – crushed and good hit of mint! Loved it, Yet again, nice surprise compared to the recent experiences.

It took me less than 15 minutes to eat them all – so hungry, so tasty with lovely texture of hot, freshly cooked fried high calorie foods (guilty pleasure!) in my mouth – then occasionally cool my mouth with cold pint – heaven!

This pub is situated in the right heart of London – if I was a tourist, eating this – it would be a great experience of London (of course, except paying £19.50). It would be higher mark if the portion size of all elements are bigger – I certainly could have finished them!

Good night!
