Bull & Gate Kentish Town

Yoyoyo! Hot summer evening – my favourite way to celebrate these summer days should be  with Fish and chips and cold beer!  Here we are at The Bull & Gate, Kentish Town.  A bit out of town, Zone 2 is the best place to be – nobody pushing each other for trying to get the table, mallow and relaxed summer evening here…

Hot hot hot foods!

Beer battered haddock, triple cooked chips, tartare sauce, mushy pea £18.00….yes £18.00 but we just accept, we are not even surprised.

FAT FISH YES!

Fish: 8/10 – Great Fat fish – Coated thinly with really simple beer batter, thick thick flesh is well cooked through but not dried out.  Firm skin of the fish has perfectly cooked with crunchy texture.  In my mouth, fish flesh, skin together with this thinly coated crunchy hot batter were, lovelily marrying – some juice of fish and slight oily feel must be one of the pleasure to eat this fried/guilty food.

Chips: 8/10 Not sure if they are triple cooked but all I know is hot, well cooked – fluffy inside while still mouth burning hot!  They also gave us mayonnaise on top of tartar sauce – wow, what a touch! Chips and mayonnaise are we all know – a killer combination.

Mushy peas 7/10 buttery home made mushy/crushed peas – good accent – doing the job they supposed to do.

Overall, I really really enjoyed, star of the show was the FAT FISH!

Thank you Bull and Gate!  See you soon!!!
